"Building a website is easy, designing one takes skill." - Paul Scrivens

In my last blog, I spoke on the importance of web development in business and how that can help bolster your company's brand reputation, online presence, sales, etc. Now I want to speak more about what web development actually is and how it impacts the world as we know it.

According to an article by Hubspot, "web development refers to the overall process of creating websites, or web applications, including the project's design, layout, content creation, and functionality. It involves using a combination of programming languages, tools, and frameworks to bring a website or web application to life. It may also encompass project management activities, such as fielding development requests from stakeholders or freelance clients." There are three common languages which are involved with web development, which is HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and Javascript. Each one of these languages play a role in formulating a website, and I will have my own blogs basically breaking down these languages. There are different components to web development as well such as front-end development and back-end development. I will be sure to write my blogs on those as well, but let's define them.

According to google definitions, "front end relates to or denotes the part of a computer system or application with which the user interacts directly." Front end developers stand between design and logic and bring the design to life and are responsible for the components that the users see, such as the header, navigation, body, images, buttons, and interactions. Front-end developers work on the client-side development and then we have back-end as well.

According to google definitions, "back-end is the part of the computer system or application that is not directly accessed by the user, typically for storing and manipulating data." Back-end is the digital infrastructure, and it includes all the code needed to build out the database, server, and application. It contains all from database migrations to API integrations to setting up the server-side technologies that make a website tick.

Overall, we covered some concepts which are important to web development, even though we could have kept going, but I like to keep my blogs, short and concise. There are so many things which go into the design of a website, and it's imperative to understand and grasp these concepts in order to build out this technology blog. I am so happy to have chosen to enter the technology world because web development is a vast topic and we will have much more to speak on. I hope you enjoyed the blog and stay tuned for more soon! Peace! :)
